The border

At Bagratashen (Armenia) and Sadakhlo (Georgia) passengers walk through both passport controls with their bags; the driver takes the car through the vehicle lane and waits on the Georgian side. Early mornings are quickest; summer weekends and holidays are slowest.

Documents

You need a passport accepted for entry to Georgia; an internal Russian passport is not enough for Georgia. Check the entry rules for your citizenship before the trip.
